We Just add a new cheese to our cheese Case here at Tomato Sunshine. This is a Traditional, farmhouse, hard cheese made from cow’s milk. It is a boulder-shaped cheese with brushed, natural rind which is either rubbed with annatto or “painted” with red plastic. The curd is colored with annatto and mixed with cumin seeds before being pressed and washed in brine. The cumin provides an aromatic flavor that contrasts well with the creamy, nutty character of the cheese. The cheese is quite similar to Gouda but is more drier.

We Just received lots of great cheeses for the weekend one in particular is Moliterno al Tarfufo. Moliterno al Tartufo is a moderately sharp, beautifully aged cheese with intense truffle flavor. Made of sheep and goat’s milk in Sardinia, this cheese is aged and then injected with black truffles for more aging. The result is irresistible flavor and texture. Perfect to star alone as a cheese course with red wines or dessert wines. If you love Truffles and semi sharp cheese you will just love this one.
